Beautifying Aurora: Supporting Cleaner Water and a More Diverse Ecosystem in the Fox River

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has released a multi-year study highlighting how removing 9 dams along the Fox River would reduce water pollution, encourage biodiversity in the populations of fish and small mammals in the ecosystem, and increase public safety - a step in the right direction for rehabilitating the river.

We spoke with Gary Swick, CEO of Friends of the Fox River, and Charlie Zine, Deputy Assessor of Aurora Township, about how the dam removal could affect the city of Aurora.
