Internationally-Renowned Artist Paints Tribute Mural in Downtown Aurora

Internationally-renowned artist Judith de Leeuw, or JDL as she's more commonly known, completed a 15-foot mural on the wall of Skinny Park in Downtown Aurora. The Dutch-born artist is the City of Lights' first internationally-recognized artist brought in to create public art. JDL calls the mural, which depicts a woman in a hospital gown holding flowers behind her back, a tribute to her dear friend, Alexa, a single mother battling multiple sclerosis. City leaders say JDL's artwork is part of a significant improvement project taking place in downtown Aurora.
