Aurora Hopes to Get $100 Million to Bring Fast Internet to Low Income & Other Areas Next Year
Aurora is applying for $100 million from the federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act to upgrade its fiber network that delivers high speed internet, which is as critical as water, heat and electricity according to the city’s CIO. About 10% of that network is currently used. The project would prioritize low income areas and reach all 10 wards.
